The Board of Directors of INDUS-EM invites Deans of Indian Medical Colleges Recognized by the Medical Council of India to send one Nominated Faculty to serve as Councilor on the INDUS-EM Academic Council for the Year 2010-2011. The overall goal of the Council is to recognize individual academic faculty from various MCI recognized Medical Colleges in India to form a group who works towards Curriculum development for training Medical Students, Residents and Fellows in Emergency Medicine and Trauma Care in India. These individual will act as a National Leadership Forum which will recommend the curriculum and lead the way to develop Emergency Medicine and Trauma Systems at their respective institutions.

“Acute Academic Technology & Leadership Incubator”

The Academic Council for Emergency Medicine and Trauma was set up as an initiative to foster the growth of Academic Emergency Medicine and Trauma Science in India via a collaboration of Experts who are recognized leaders in their Medical Colleges in India. Academics is best fostered in educational settings and when it comes to medicine there is no better place then government recognized medical college hospitals in India. The US Collaboration brings together the technical expertise needed to foster the development of a new specialty of Trauma and Emergency Medicine in India. The ACET Councilors will have a relationship that will involve transcontinental training, research and education to develop an ideal Emergency and trauma care Systems in India via their institutions. The developing models will thus act as a guide for future development of such systems across India.

The ACET Annual Assembly will be held simultaneously with
INDUS-EM 2010
at Vadodara, Gujarat
from 8th October 2010 to 10th October 2010.

Sitting ACET Councilors on the 2009-2010 Council if Renominated by their Dean will only need a Letter of Continuance from their Dean in addition to the Assembly Fees and Filling of Registration Form. If they cannot provide the letter they can still continue to be members of the council for another year. ACET Councilors who also hold Membership to the Zonal Councils will have to pay Councilor fees for the Annual Assembly.

Dean of the MCI Recognized Medical College will nominate a One Single Faculty to be ACET-COUNCILOR (2010-2011).

The New Nominated Councilor for 2010-2011 must provide:

  • Most recent Curriculum Vitae
  • Passport Size Picture
  • Completed Councilor Nomination Form
  • Completed Registration Form and fees
  • Support Letter from Dean of His or Her MCI Recognized Medical College

Objectives of INDUS-EM Academic Council 2010-2011

  • Facilitate the existing process for developing academic emergency medicine and Trauma care in India.
  • Review the INDO-US-ACET Proceedings from 2006, 2007, 2008 and the progress till date
  • Proceed with the Emergency Medicine and Trauma curriculum
  • Explore opportunities to do an International Fellowship
  • Explore future vistas for conducting International research
  • Review Successful Faculty Development Programs started by Existing Councilors of 2009-2010
